Did the Roman Catholic Church Really Give Us the Bible?

A growing number of honest-hearted truth seekers are stumbling over a startling allegation: the claim that the Roman Catholic Church is responsible for providing the world with the Bible as we now know it.  It is stated that the Roman Catholic Church, at the Council of Nicæa, selected which writings to include, deciding what books were inspired while rejecting others as uninspired.

If this assertion is true, the problem is immediately apparent: considering how many unscriptural beliefs are taught and practiced by the Roman Catholic Church, how can one be assured that the modern Bible is the word of Yahuwah?  What if the Roman Catholic Church rejected some books that should have been included?  If Catholicism is responsible for our modern Bible, how can we be sure it is correct?

The idea that the Roman Catholic Church is solely responsible for providing the world with the Holy Bible comes from, not surprisingly, the Roman Catholics themselves. The Faith of Millions: The Credentials of the Catholic Religion clearly spells out the reasoning used for this incredible claim:

It was the Catholic Church which gathered up all these books [of the New Testament], placed them within the covers of a single volume, and thus gave to the world what is known today as the Bible...

1.     The New Testament was written in its entirety by Catholics.
2.     St. Peter, the first pope of the Catholic Church, is the author of two of its epistles.
3.     The Catholic Church determined the canon or list of books to constitute the New Testament.
4.     The declaration of the Catholic Church that the books of the New Testament are all inspired by God constitutes the soleauthority for the universal belief of both Catholics and Protestants in their inspired character.
5.     The Catholic Church existed before the New Testament.
6.     The Catholic Church is the mother of the New Testament

If she had not scrutinized carefully the writings of her children, rejecting some and approving others as worthy of inclusion in the canon of the New Testament, there would be no New Testament today.

If she had not declared the books composing the New Testament to be the inspired word of God, we would not know it.

The only authority which non-Catholics have for the inspiration of the Scriptures is the authority of the Catholic Church.  If the latter be rejected, there remain no logical grounds for retention of the cardinal tenet of all Protestants – the inspired character of Scripture.¹

The author of this incredible statement is being intentionally misleading.  He is deliberately twisting words in a crafty, cunning manner.  By using the term “Catholic Church” throughout, one is led to assume that the church being referred to is the Roman Catholic Church.  However, this is deceptive.  The facts of history prove that the Roman Catholic Church did not come into existence until several hundred years after the New Testament was written.  Therefore, the Roman Catholic Church could not, in point of fact, be “the mother of the New Testament” nor could it have “existed before the New Testament.”  Therefore, the writers of the New Testament could not have been Roman Catholics!

And here is where the deliberate deception enters.  The claim is made about the “Catholic Church” not the “Roman Catholic Church” as most readers would assume.  The word “catholic” simply means “universal.”  So in that sense, it could be argued that the writers of the New Testament were of the “universal” body of believers which did, in fact, exist, before New Testament times.  However, the implication that it is only the declaration of the Roman Catholic Church “that the books of the New Testament are all inspired by God constitutes the sole authority for the universal belief of both Catholics and Protestants in their inspired character” is both incorrect and blasphemous. 

Such a statement weakens the authority of the Bible and places the Roman Catholic Church in a position superior to Scripture.  If the Word of YAH is holy only because the pope declares it to be so, that places the pope in a more important position than Yahuwah Himself, the divine Author.

When viewed in the light of the documented facts of history, such bold claims are revealed to be nothing more than audacious, deceptive boasts.

The Council of Nicæa (AD 322-325) was convened by Constantine I for ecumenical purposes only.  He wanted to unify Christianity for his own, secular purposes.  It is from this Council that we get the Nicene Creed.  No records exist of any discussion at that time pertaining to which books should comprise the sacred canon and which should be left out.

The New Testament as it exists today was in circulation and recognized as inspired long before the Council of Nicæa.  All of the books that comprise the New Testament were written by AD 95.  Even during Paul’s lifetime, his letters were already in circulation among the early believers.  Paul instructed the members in Colossæ: “Now when this epistle is read among you, see that it is read also in the church of the Laodiceans, and that you likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.”  (Colossians 4:16, NKJV.  See also, 1 Thessalonians 5:27.)

By the middle of the second century, the four gospels were being circulated together.  Justin Martyr (AD 100-160) did not cite by name any New Testament writing, but did refer to them with “it is recorded” or as “the memoirs of the apostles.”  He also refers in the plural to the Gospels:  “For the apostles, in the memoirs composed by them, which are called Gospels, have thus delivered unto us what was enjoined upon them; that Jesus took bread, and when He had given thanks, said, "This do ye in remembrance of Me . . . ."²

Around 170-175 AD Tatian, a disciple of Justin, created a harmony of the four orthodox gospels known as the Diatessaron. This text was accepted in some circles, even being used to replace the four gospels, but this success was short lived. What this harmony reveals, however, is that the church was beginning to recognize only four gospels.³

This is an important point because it clearly rejects all of the Gnostic Gospels, which were written between the second and fourth centuries after Christ.  Irenaeus, Clement of Alexandria and Tertullian all quote from, mention or name all of the books of the New Testament with the exceptions of Philemon, Jude James, 2 Peter, and 2 and 3 John.  Years before the Council of Nicæa, Origen (AD 185-254) mentioned all of the books of both the Old and the New Testaments!  Eusebius, who has been called the “Father of Ecclesiastical History,” gave an account of the persecution that occurred under the Emperor Diocletian.  He listed all the books of the New Testament.  Athanasius, bishop at Alexandria, likewise listed all of the New Testament books.  These are all pre-Roman Catholic writers, yet all refer in some way to the books that comprise the New Testament canon.

The Muratorian Canon provides still further conclusive and unique evidence that the New Testament was compiled before and apart from any action of the Roman Catholic Church.  This document is a manuscript fragment that contains  the oldest known listing of New Testament books.  Most scholars believe it was written sometime between AD 170 and AD 200.  The only books missing from the listing are Hebrews, 1 and 2 Peter and 3 John.  It is not a Roman Catholic document.

The Roman Catholic Church as it is today was not in existence during the first three centuries after Christ.  It only rose to prominenceafter the ecumenical efforts of Constantine I legalized Christianity.  And even then, it was a process that spanned several centuries. 

The very first historical reference to the exact 27 books that make up the New Testament did not appear until well after the Council of Nicæa.  In the letter penned by Athanasius, “Easter Letter” of AD 367, all 27 books were listed.  The Synod of Hippo (AD 393) apparently referred to a list of writings that could be read in church.  Nothing from this synod is still in existence today.  It is only known because it was referenced in the Synod of Carthage (AD 397).  “Even this historical reference from Carthage, Canon 24, does not ‘list’ every single document. For example, it reads, ‘the gospels, four books…’ The only reason for this list is to confirm which writings are ‘sacred’ and should be read in a church service. There is no comment as to why and how this list was agreed upon.”⁴

In the light of the foregoing, the boastful claim of the Roman Catholic Church that it has been the sole guardian and preserver of the sacred Scriptures down to the present, is nothing but pure falsehood. The Bible is not a Catholic book. Catholics did not write it, nor does their doctrines and church meet the description of the doctrine and church of which it speaks. The New Testament was completed before the end of the first century, A.D. The things in it do not correspond to the Catholic Church which hundreds of years after the death of the apostles slowly evolved into what it now is. The [Roman] Catholic Church is not the original and true church, but a "church" born of many departures and corruptions from the New Testament church.⁵

Four criteria were broadly used to determine whether the various writings were inspired by the Spirit of YAH and should be included in the sacred canon:

1. The author was either an apostle, closely connected with an apostle or first-hand witness to the events described.
2. The book was widely accepted by the body of early believers as being true.
3. The doctrines taught were consistent with that taught in other inspired works.
4. The writing bore evidence of moral superiority and spiritual values as demonstrated by the work of the Holy Spirit upon the heart in response to what was taught in the book.

It is important to understand that no church and no action of men are responsible for Holy Scripture.  No council somehow made a book “inspired.”  The various statements of the councils merely recognized what the body of believers had already established as inspired writ.  Michael J. Kruger, author of The Question of Canon, observes:

When people discover that Nicea did not decide the canon, the follow up question is usually, “Which council did decide the canon?”   Surely we could not have a canon without some sort of authoritative, official act of the church by which it was decided.  Surely we have a canon because some group of men somewhere voted on it. Right?

This whole line of reasoning reveals a fundamental assumption about the New Testament canon that needs to be corrected, namely that it was (or had to be) decided by a church council.  The fact of the matter is that when we look into early church history there is no such council.   Sure, there are regional church councils that made declarations about the canon (Laodicea, Hippo, Carthage).   But these regional councils did not just “pick” books they happened to like, but affirmed the books they believed had functioned as foundational documents for the Christian faith.  In other words, these councils were declaring the way things had been, not the way they wanted them to be.

Thus, these councils did not create, authorize, or determine the canon. They simply were part of the process of recognizinga canon that was already there.⁶

Yahuwah alone is responsible for providing the world with inspired writings, writings of which He alone is the author.  “All scripture is given by inspiration of Yahuwah, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of Yahuwah may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”  (2 Timothy 3:16 and 17)

Study sacred Scripture.  Entrust your mind to your Creator.  He has pledged to lead you into all truth. “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of Yahuwah, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.”  (James 1:5 and 6)

Accept with confidence that the Bible is the Word of the Omnipotent One to you, personally.  Wisdom and understanding will be given to all who commit themselves to know Yahuwah through His Word.

Yellowstone Super volcano Alert: The Most Dangerous Volcano In America Is Roaring To Life

Right now, the ground underneath Yellowstone National Park is rising at a record rate.  In fact, it is rising at the rate of about three inches per year.  The reason why this is such a concern is because underneath the park sits the Yellowstone super volcano – the largest volcano in North America.  Scientists tell us that it is inevitable that it will erupt again one day, and when it does the devastation will be almost unimaginable.  A full-blown eruption of the Yellowstone super volcano would dump a 10 foot deep layer of volcanic ash up to 1,000 miles away, and it would render much of the United States uninhabitable.  When most Americans think of Yellowstone, they tend to conjure up images of Yogi Bear and “Old Faithful”, but the truth is that sleeping underneath Yellowstone is a volcanic beast that could destroy our nation in a single day and now that beast is starting to    wake up.

The Yellowstone super volcano is so vast that it is hard to put it into words.  According to the Daily Mail, the magma “hotspot” underneath Yellowstone is approximately 300 miles wide…

The Yellowstone Caldera is one of nature’s most awesome creations and sits atop North America’s largest volcanic field.

Its name means ‘cooking pot’ or ‘cauldron’ and it is formed when land collapses following a volcanic explosion.

In Yellowstone, some 400 miles beneath the Earth’s surface is a magma ‘hotspot’ which rises to 30 miles underground before spreading out over an area of 300 miles across.

Atop this, but still beneath the surface, sits the slumbering volcano.

When most Americans think of volcanic eruptions in the United States, they remember the catastrophic eruption of Mount St. Helens back in 1980.  But that eruption would not even be worth comparing to a full-blown eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano.

And now the area around Yellowstone is becoming increasingly seismically active.  In fact, Professor Bob Smith says that he has never seen anything like this in the 53 years that he has been watching Yellowstone…

Until recently, Bob Smith had never witnessed two simultaneous earthquake swarms in his 53 years of monitoring seismic activity in and around the Yellowstone Caldera.

Now, Smith, a University of Utah geophysics professor, has seen three swarms at once.

In September, 130 earthquakes hit Yellowstone over the course of a single week.  This has got many Yellowstone observers extremely concerned…

Yellowstone’s recent earthquake swarms started on Sept. 10 and were shaking until about 11:30 a.m. Sept. 16.

“A total of 130 earthquakes of magnitude 0.6 to 3.6 have occurred in these three areas, however, most have occurred in the Lower Geyser Basin,” a University of Utah statement said. “Notably much of seismicity in Yellowstone occurs as swarms.”

So what is the worst case scenario?

Well, according to the Daily Mail, a full-blown eruption of Yellowstone could leave two-thirds of the United States completely uninhabitable…

It would explode with a force a thousand times more powerful than the Mount St Helens eruption in 1980.

Spewing lava far into the sky, a cloud of plant-killing ash would fan out and dump a layer 10ft deep up to 1,000 miles away.

Two-thirds of the U.S. could become uninhabitable as toxic air sweeps through it, grounding thousands of flights and forcing millions to leave their homes.

Can you think of another potential disaster that could accomplish the same thing?

That is why what is going on at Yellowstone right now is so important, and the American people deserve the truth.  The following are some more facts about Yellowstone that I compiled that I included in a previous article…

#1 A full-scale eruption of Yellowstone could be up to 1,000 time more powerful than the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980.

#2 A full-scale eruption of Yellowstone would spew volcanic ash 25 miles up into the air.

#3 The next eruption of Yellowstone seems to be getting closer with each passing year.  Since 2004, some areas of Yellowstone National Park have risen by as much as 10 inches.

#4 There are approximately 3,000 earthquakes in the Yellowstone area every single year.

#5 In the event of a full-scale eruption of Yellowstone, virtually the entire northwest United States will be completely destroyed.

#6 A massive eruption of Yellowstone would mean that just about everything within a 100 mile radius of Yellowstone would be immediately killed.

#7 A full-scale eruption of Yellowstone could also potentially dump a layer of volcanic ash that is at least 10 feet deep up to 1,000 miles away.

#8 A full-scale eruption of Yellowstone would cover virtually the entire midwest United States with volcanic ash.  Food production in America would be almost totally wiped out.

#9 The “volcanic winter” that a massive Yellowstone eruption would cause would radically cool the planet.  Some scientists believe that global temperatures would decline by up to 20 degrees.

#10 America would never be the same again after a massive Yellowstone eruption.  Some scientists believe that a full eruption by Yellowstone would render two-thirds of the United States completely uninhabitable.

#11 Scientists tell us that it is not a matter of “if” Yellowstone will erupt but rather “when” the next inevitable eruption will take place.

What makes all of this even more alarming is that a number of other very prominent volcanoes around the world are starting to roar back to life right now as well.

For example, an Inquisitr article from back in July described how “the most dangerous volcano in Mexico” is starting to become extremely active…

Popocatepetl Volcano is at it again. The active volcano near Mexico City erupted again this morning, spewing ash up into the sky.

The volcano is currently in the middle of an extremely active phase. According to the International Business Times, the volcano has registered 39 exhalations in the last 24 hours.

An eruption earlier this month caused several flights to be canceled in and out of Mexico City.

The BBC notes that officials raised the alert level yellow following Popocateptl’s eruption on Saturday morning. Yellow is the third-highest caution level on the city’s seven step scale.

And an NBC News article from August noted that one of the most dangerous volcanoes in Japan has erupted 500 times so far this year…

Ash wafted as high as 3 miles above the Sakurajima volcano in the southern city of Kagoshima on Sunday afternoon, forming its highest plume since the Japan Meteorological Agency started keeping records in 2006. Lava flowed just over half a mile from the fissure, and several huge volcanic rocks rolled down the mountainside.

Though the eruption was more massive than usual, residents of the city of about 600,000 are used to hearing from their 3,664-foot neighbor. Kagoshima officials said in a statement that this was Sakurajima’s 500th eruption this year alone.

So what does all of this mean?

Are we now entering a time when volcanic eruptions will become much more common all over the globe?

Could we rapidly be approaching the day when an absolutely devastating volcanic eruption will paralyze much of North America?

What is Armageddon?

 

"Armageddon" . . . The very word has come to mean A WAR TO END ALL WARS, total chaos, and destruction.  Armageddon is much larger than a single battle, or even a seven-year nuclear world war at the end of time.

The word “Armageddon” comes from the Bible, so the Bible must tell us what it means.  Scripture reveals that “Armageddon” embraces the entire cosmic conflict between the Creator and the arch-rebel, Lucifer.  The word in Hebrew reveals that this war is fought on the battlefield of the mind; it is all over whom youworship.

"And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon."  (Revelation 16:16)

Armageddon comes from two Hebrew words:har (H2022) mo'ed (H4150¹).  Har simply means "mountain."  In Scripture, mountains are symbols of governments or kingdoms.  (See Daniel 2:34-35, 44-45.)  Mo'ed (mo'edim) is used throughout Scripture to refer to the times appointed for the worshipping assemblies of the righteous.  Thus, Armageddon, har mo’ed, means the Mountain of Times Appointed for Worship. --New Moon Day, Seventh-day Sabbath, Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Wave Sheaf, Pentecost, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Feast of Tabernacles

The Creator of Heaven and Earth cares when we worship.  He designed a time-keeping system to mark days of worship.  Yahuwah decreed:

"Let there be lights in the . . . heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons [mo'edim, time for worship], and for days, and years." (Genesis 1:14)

"He appointed the moon for seasons [mo'edim]."  (Psalm 104:19)

Moses was told:

"Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts [mo'edim] of Yahuwah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations [holy gatherings], even these are My feasts [mo’edim].  Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, a holy convocation . . . these are the feasts [mo'edim] of Yahuwah . . . ."  (Leviticus 23:2-4)

The huge, millennia-long war between the Creator and Lucifer is all over who shall be worshipped.  It began in heaven when Lucifer boasted he would steal the worship due to the Creator alone.

"How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of El; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation [har mo'ed] On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.'" (Isaiah 14:12-14)

The final Battle of Armageddon, like the long-running War of Armageddon, is fought on the battlefield of worship.  This conflict is much larger than any world war.  It comes to every person living at the end of time.  Lucifer wanted to steal the worship that belongs only to the Almighty, the Creator.  Daniel 7:25 reveals how he has done this:

“He shall insult the Most High, he shall torment/wear out the holy ones of the Most High, and he shall attempt to change the calendar and the ordinance.”  (Knox translation)

The luni-solar calendar established at Creation uses the sun for measuring days and years . . . and the moon for measuring months.  Both the month and the weekly cycle restart with the first dawn after the conjunction of the moon.  Then six work days follow New Moon day with a seventh-day Sabbath of rest at the end. 

Lucifer has stolen the worship due the Creator by establishing a solar calendar with a continuous weekly cycle.  The entire world has united in using the Gregorian solar calendar for determining worship, be it on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

When you worship, determined by which calendar you use, reveals whether your worship is directed to the Creator or His enemy.  The day on which you worship is your pledge of loyalty to One or the other.

This is the Battle of Armageddon, the final conflict in the war over worship.  All the world will take sides in this conflict.  All worship using the pagan solar calendar made by Lucifer's earthly representative, Pope Gregory XIII, directs that worship to Lucifer.  All who truly desire to honor their Maker will use His calendar of lunar months beginning the year in the spring.  This is the pledge of allegiance to the Creator: worship on His appointed day.

In 2009, a young Korean artist who was attending an all-night prayer meeting, was visited by Jesus Christ. She was taken to see Hell and told by Jesus to draw what she saw, so that the world would know.

Artist Speaking: “As I was praying all night long, I was able to love Jesus more than ever. One day, Jesus came and said in my Heart,
“I will show you the deeper things of Heaven.”

I thought I was going to visit heaven, but instead, we visited Hell.

 

As I followed Jesus, I cried the whole time.  I then began to hear moans, screams, and wailing sounds.

Most people have a misconception about Hell. They are deluded and think that if they "Only Believe in Jesus Christ," they will go to Heaven.
They mistakenly think that "BELIEVING" is the only requirement for entrance into Heaven.
Some even think that once they die, there is nothing afterwards.

People believe as they think, and therefore they live their lives as they please…

Jesus also showed me that as people watch violent secular movies, demons would actually torment the person’s soul without the person realizing it. As a person watches the scenes from TV, their soul is tormented and wounded. Watching secular TV does not help Christians develop a loving relationship with our bridegroom Jesus.

I saw that when people were smoking and drinking, that spirits of snakes filled the alcoholic drinks and the cigarette smoke.

As Jesus witnessed the sins committed by man, He cried. satan and his demons would tie the bodies of sinners so tight with iron chains to control them. Therefore sinners would go deeper and deeper in sin.

I am pleading with you not to commit sin. Do NOT live as you desire. In Hell, the senses are hundreds of times more vivid than what we feel on Earth. The pain is more severe.

Jesus showed me how people fall into Hell.

Jesus: I see countless people falling into the eternal deep sea of the fire of Hell every single day…Please tell the people what you have witnessed in Hell! You must tell them about Hell! Tell people how awful and gruesome Hell is! You must paint the scene of Hell as if you are within my heart. Draw the scenes with My aching heart!

They are falling into the Fire of Hell.

Draw it with My aching heart….

He felt such pity for people who were falling into Hell every single day!

As I was painting the scenes of Hell,
satan attacked me severely.  But I wanted to show the world about Hell and the heart of Jesus through these paintings.

I saw people being tormented on a cross.

I saw people who did not want to eat the bread of life...(God's Word)

There were people who would not discuss the things of their lives with Jesus, but made their own decisions, and followed their own will.

There were people who drank and ate prohibited things.

Jesus: Please tell people who hurt each other's hearts by their words that they must not hurt or wound their brothers/sisters in Christ.  They must not say things without care or love.

This is how Murderers, rapists and child kidnappers will be tormented.

This woman tries desperately to escape.

The punishment for liars.  (Prov. 20:17)

Those people who stole money will be penetrated by arrows and needles.

Stealing money.  (1 Tim 6:10)

In Hell, I saw a woman and her son who had died. In Hell they no longer loved each other. Because of the unbearable pain, they would do anything to escape the torment, even by stepping on each other.

Insects in Hell.
These insects are for people who committed sins by their thoughts. They were filled with their own thoughts and knowledge. Covered by countless maggots, their entire body is wounded by large insects; going in and out of the whole body, mouth, ears and head.

Persecution of the gospel:
The picture shows how demons would influence people to persecute, harass and kill the messengers of the full and true gospel.

These people were filled with their own thoughts and knowledge.

These people were obstinate in their thinking. They thought, "why would Jesus work in my life?  Who am I?  I don’t think He loves me.  I am very evil.  I don’t think He would love someone like me."
They were also people who violated God’s word and ignore God’s commandments. They will be placed in an area similar to a frying pan, which was burning with Hell fire.

Those people who do not attempt to align their thoughts with God’s will end up in Hell. We must fix our minds and thoughts on God.

This torment was for those Christians who did not share the gospel. They did not evangelize the good news to the lost. They ignored their calling.
(1 Cor 9:16)

This torment was for the people who had ignored God’s word and still continued to commit sin. They are the ones who performed evil in the eyes of the Lord.

For those who worshiped idols, those that had evil thoughts and were stubborn in their ways.

Grumblers and complainers also wound up in Hell.   [1st Corinthians 10:10]

Grumblers and complainers in their heart.

There is a place in Hell for men who cheated on their spouses. For those who became gay or bisexual. They were penetrated by knives and spears.

For those who became sexually corrupt, their private parts were being pierced by demons.

A raging fire all around, with no place to escape. (Heb: 10:27)

Hell is endless, the torments are endless.

For those who would not repent.

You must kill any devil that is living inside of you.

When people repent, they cross over from death to life, and Jesus is waiting for them on the other side. They drop their heavy load of sin, and start on the narrow path to life, and off the road to hell.

When we repent and pray before God, angel armies come down and pierce the demons with their swords.

Jesus said, "Focus Me. You must focus only Me."

Jesus forgives our sins when we repent.

Repent of your sins and believe in Jesus!
If you do, Heaven is waiting for you, instead of Hell.
A place where you could be joyful and have a happy life forever!

Please, Don’t go to Hell!!!
